F.Lux, the software that makes you sleep sooner and pampers your eyes : just get flux !

Hello bunnies ! How are you ? Today's article is quite special, because it is about a software suuuper cool that engages in the dark night ...

          Yeah, no, put away those looks full of hope, no sexy vampire around, I'm sorry. (But I can advise you to go watch Dracula, Untold if this is what you are looking for ... Sexy vampire garanteed ! ;)) This being said, I still got something cool for you : a software that turns "yellow" the light of your screen when the sun tells us bye bye. And now, you're going to tell me : "Ma perché ?!". I'll get to it !

○ The software f.lux ? What's that about ?!

          As says the website, the evening, when suddenly we turn on our computer screen, we are blinded by it. F.lux explains that our screens light is meant to look like the sun, yet, the evening and during the night, we shouldn't be looking at the sun ... The software f.lux modifies this light depending on the sun's position. Yes, yes. Because f.lux knows where you live... Tin, tin, tin !
          More seriously, when you download the software, it asks you two things : what city you live in and what kind of light you use in the room, (incandescent, halogene, daylight), for the day and for the night. Then, the software takes care of everything, you can forget it, everything works automatically.
          During the night, it gives a hot color to your computer screen, (an orangish yellow), and during the day, a light that reproduces the sunlight, but in a softer way than the usual light of our computers.

○ Why install it ?

          F.lux indicates that the blue light of our screens can make us unable to sleep. In fact, a search would have demonstrated that fixing our screen at night for one hour, could shift the moment we fall asleep of two hours! By using f.lux, you avoid that. When the sun sets, it makes sure that the luminosity of your screen is the same as the one of the room you are in.

○ And does that work ?

          Yes ! Personally, since I've installed it, I can't do without it ! Finished the ophtalmic headaches, bye bye the blinding when I turn on my screen, hello peaceful sleep ! The eyes get a lot less tired while fixing the screen and so, it's a software that becomes quite quickly essential, most of all for people who use their computer a lot.

○ But if the screen turns yellow, then what we look at too ... And what about my movie then ?!

          No panic wolfies cub ! F.lux thought about everything ! Look at the image up there, down you can see a little case to check, next to which is written : "Disable for 1 hour (for doing color-sensitive work)" so you can stop the software action during one hour. (And believe me, when you use it ... You see the difference !)

          At first, I agree, it's special. But we get used to it quite easily ! And if you have a laptop computer, think about getting the screen closer, you'll less see the orangeness. (The more you will put it away, the more your screen will get orange.)

○ And we need to buy it, this software ?

          Nope ! It is 100% free. Well, I am a bit sceptical because they do say on the website : "Free for Windows", (which I have), but I clicked on the Mac download link, and I could download it without problem.
          The software also exists for Linux and for iPhone/iPad.

That's it, now you know everything about this wonderful software that counts more and more fans ! It's really an useful tool and indispensable, most of all when you spend a lot of time on your computer. Try it, and you'll see that you too won't be able to do without it !
