Hello hello the most beautiful ones !
Today I'm back with the presentation and review of the nailpolish Rouge Louboutin from Christian Louboutin !

As I announced it in my video Mon Instant Favoris et Découverte de Novembre 2014, I wore the nail lacquer Rouge Louboutin, (which was a so sweet gift from a friend), for the holidays. So it's time for me to share my impressions with you !

As I presented it in my video,
Christian Louboutin started
his beauty section, with nailpolishes, (
and also a kit manicure primer + gloss).

The luxe - They are presented in a faceted, weighted glass bottle, overhang by a vertiginous cap, pointed like a stiletto. (Just so you know, the
Rouge Louboutin is the only one to possess a cap as high as that, all the others have a smaller one in comparison, but of course, it is still quite high).
They are delicately put in a (jewel) box, which color changes depending on the nailpolishes, but they always have such a chic look !

A nail polish is $50, the kit manicure $55 and the very special
Loubi Under Red $45. And so now, of course, you're thinking : Uh ? The website presents it as a "a fine, felt-tip pen". It's in fact, simply the
Rouge Louboutin but with a very thin applicator, designed to paint the underside of the nails, refering to the legendary red sole, or also to help for nail art.
First, before going any further, and since I sadly need to, yes, I know : $50 a nail polish, it's totally exaggerated. Yes, we agree. At the same time, it's a bit the signature
Louboutin : immoderation. Vertiginous heels, as well as the prices. Clearly, we don't buy one of those nailpolishes thinking : "Oh, I think I kinda want a red nailpolish !", but actually for the "collection", "jewelry", and - let's be honest - "luxury" aspects. So I want to specify that no, we are not here to debate if, yes or no, spending so much money in a nailpolish is really necessary - since it's obvious that it's not, but if we go there, buying nailpolish isn't either, nor wearing jewels, etc. Here we're interested in the aesthetic, in the beauty, luxury, in the "collection" aspect, the art, the crafts also. In no way in how people spend their money - which they're free to do. So please, no debate here since there is no right nor wrong, just a personal and independent choice. :)
This introduction being done, I get back to my review.

The collection - The beauty collection from
Christian Louboutin is divided in three categories : the
NOIRS, the
NUDES, the
POPS and let's add the one I will talk to you about : the
ROUGE LOUBOUTIN.
Honestly, all the colors are gorgeous, (you'd tell me : it better, seeing the price), and really make us want to get them, (very sadly for our wallets !).
Concerning more precisely the Rouge Louboutin :

The immoderation- The packaging with its vertiginous bright black cap, (8 inches !), is inspired from the
Ballerina Ultima, the shoe with the tallest heel ever created by
Christian Louboutin, and it's no surprise since the heel drows the distance to the ground when a ballerina stands on her
pointes.

The art - However, to be honest, the cap-stiletto overhanging its bottle, makes us think more of an inkwell, and not without reason since it is indeed the creator's idea, who explains that "The tall slender cap, [has been] inspired by calligraphy". So the saying "painting one's nails" has never been as pertinent, since we feel a bit like having an artist's soul with such a brush in the hand !

The crafts - If the cap is the element that catches the eye first, the bottle has nothing to be envious of. Producted by the French house
Verreries Pochet du Courval, "
who have mastered the way we enclose all things beautiful and luxurious since the 1600s" and being presented as "a world leader in glassmaking for high quality perfumes and cosmetics", it has been drawn after "the classical balustrades of 17th and 18th century Europe".

Apart from its architectural reference : "it’s the product of nearly four centuries of artisanal expertise - a true objet d’art".

The
Rouge Louboutin's one also has the particularity to present a gradation progressing, (from the bottom to the top), from an intense black to a vivid red. We can say that, more than a nailpolish bottle, it is a
"flacon" of collection, a real jewel.

The aesthetic - The cap is surprisingly very pleasant in hand. Its length really allows its user to find the most comfortable grip and I surprised myself by using it higher than what I would have imagined, or what more traditional caps got me used to. This new position allows me a better control and more precision.

About the brush, the website specifies : "The custom-designed, patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles [...]", and I have to say that, indeed, it is very nice to use. It is thick enough to capture the formula and apply it in an even way, but flexible enough to spread in a fan in order to be able to cover a maximum the nail and to limit the number of layers.
The bottle contains 0.4fl. oz product.

The beauty - About the nailpolish itself, it's a vivid red, a "wax seal" red as I call them, (maybe in order to recall the
Louboutin sole's material ? Haha !). It kind of almost has orange under tons, which - with its brightness - give a lot of peps ! So it is not "Le Rouge" as we call it, meaning the most versatile, the most timeless and classical one, but indeed a vivid red which we notice and really gives a touch of color and of "energy" to the outfit.

The website indicates that the nailpolishes
Louboutin possess "A highly pigmented, super glossy formula [which] delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer". Well, twenty layers, uh ...
Loubi', we adore you, but here, you take it, (the shoe !), a bit too far, don't you think ? No, more seriously, the lacquer is indeed more covering and opaque than an ordinary one, like a
Kiko for example, or even than an
O.P.I.. Even so, I suppose that the
Dior,
Chanel, and other luxury nailpolishes also have an opaque and shiny lacquer. One coat is enough, two are perfect.

Its application is really easy and indeed, I didn't have any problem of bubble air. But of course, saying that it is comparable as "twenty layers" it's still exaggerating, and somehow, thank Goodness, because I'm not so sure of the result if we applied twenty layers of our traditional nailpolish, uh ...

About how long it lasts, honestly, I'm a bad example because I have extremely fragile nails, which split and break in the blink of an eye, (and since I am always doing tons of things ...). So in my case it got chipped off quickly, even with top coat, but I can't say that it's because of the nailpolish.

The last word - Is it worth spending $50 in a nailpolish ? No. Of course not. Even so, if you want to offer it (to yourself), it's a nailpolish of quality, and be it the
Rouge Louboutin or any nailpolish from the brand, the colors are just so wonderful, honestly, just taking a look at it is a pleasure. The little box in which is presented the nailpolish is always so pretty and presents so well, no, sincerely, as a "luxurious" product, as an
objet d'art, as an object of collection, it's definitely a beautiful present. It can be a gift for a special occasion : majority, getting to your 20s, 30s, 40s ..., a school or professional success, or even - ô ultimate madness ! - just for the pleasure. Just because it makes you smile to offer it (to yourself). Yes, just, and only, for the pleasure to please someone or yourself. I know : CRAZY ! ;-)
